Blackbox counter

The white counter in the Blackbox formula stands out clearly from the darker main colour of the other design elements. That makes the counter immediately recognisable and easy to find for your visitors. The counter, which has an informative function in this formula, displays the word INFO in prominent grey letters and the well-known orange Library logo. The floating ceiling element directly above the counter has orange lettering. This creates even greater visibility.

The counter in the Blackbox formula is made of HPL (High Pressure Laminate: high-quality, solid plastic sheets). The counter has an oak work surface positioned at standing height, which stimulates direct communication between visitors and library employees.

Whitebox counter

The counter plays a relatively modest role in the Whitebox formula. The functions for checking in and checking out items are mostly self-service. So there is no need for a large, central counter. Instead of this, the Whitebox formula has one or more smaller counters with an informative function. These counters are positioned along the catwalk. On these counters, there are computers that visitors can use to search the library catalogue – if necessary, together with a library employee.

The counter has a work surface with rounded edges at standing height, which stimulates interaction between employees and visitors. The materials are white high-gloss plastic. The front of the counter is fitted with Perspex panels with a wood/reed print.
